A few days ago Anup Banskota and I discussed about a new web phenomenon called "blog". This is my first blog posting.
Until now people's writings had to be accepted by some publisher to get published. But blogs will revolutionize this business. If you have something to say, blog it! I am not sure how the network of blogs will run, but our guess is when many people will start to have blogs one will link into other and so on.
My only concern on Internet publication is who will monitor wrong information. Since this is an open medium of publication there's already tons of misinformation that mislead people. Blogs will probably add to this pool. But again, like any good website that stands out, good blogs will also stand out.
Another concern is defamation. It is already established that once it's there on the web, it's there forever. So, will there be a way to control defamation?
There's still a long way to go. But, happy blogging!
